Agility and IGP dog training requires dog jumping over a barrier. The dog should overcome a hurdle on a command.
First of all, acquaint your dog with a jump and round about it.
The dog has to seat at your left leg. The distance to the barrier is to be 5-6 m. Tell "Heel" and take to the hurdle. Say "Jump" and overcome the obstacle making the dog to follow you with a slight lead pulling during a jump. Re-do the exercise a few times.
You don't jump over the hurdle with your dog at the next lesson. Encourage it to overcome the obstacle itself.
When the dog reaches the barrier you tell "Jump" and pull the leash slightly forward and up a little. Show the dog a motion: a hand towards the hurdle.
Run rightward round the hurdle and say "Heel" before the dog's landing. Give a treat or a toy to the dog as a reward.
Start dog training from the easiest exercises. Make the exercises more complicated step by step considering your dog's physical fitness and never train the dog just after feeding.
