Congratulation! You have just bought a new muzzle for your dog, unpacked it, and... It doesn't fit! What to do?
Doberman Muzzle of Correct Size
A muzzle is fixed on a dog's snout with straps. There are different types of dog muzzles with 2, 3 or 4 straps. They are all linked and set on the back of the dog's head. The most convenient model has 4 leather straps. The main strap goes around a dog's head like a collar and the other 3 straps are fastened to it: 2 side and 1 forehead between the dog's ears.
Leather Dog Muzzle Fixation
Walking or training dog muzzle shouldn't be too tight, your pet should open its mouth a bit (except of muzzles for a vet visits). Your dog's nose shouldn't rest against the upper part of the muzzle. At the same time, the straps must fix the muzzle not allow it to slip off a dog’s head. Your dog shouldn't have a possibility to dislodge the muzzle with its paws. Good muzzle also shouldn't cut into your dog's skin under its eyes.
